Our Amazon Conservation Project

The Amazon Conservation Project is dedicated to preserving the unique ecosystem of the Cuyabeno rainforest. Through sustainable practices and community involvement, it helps protect wildlife, habitats, and local culture while supporting a healthier planet.

“For me, nature isn’t just a job, it’s a passion. I’ve spent my life exploring the Amazon, and I love sharing my knowledge and excitement about this incredible ecosystem with every guest at Cuyabeno Wildlife Center.”

Giving Back to Nature & Community

Founded by experienced local guides, the project shows how responsible Cuyabeno tours can benefit both the rainforest and its people. By working with indigenous communities, it provides sustainable jobs, supports education and healthcare, and ensures tourism directly contributes to conservation.

A portion of every tour and activity you book with Cuyabeno Wildlife Center is reinvested into preserving habitats, protecting animals, and funding environmental education programs. This way, your visit creates real impact beyond the adventure itself.

What Needs Protecting

The Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve spans over 603,000 hectares of pristine Amazon rainforest, wetlands, and rivers. It’s home to endangered species like pink river dolphins and giant otters, and provides vital ecosystem services including carbon capture, water filtration, and soil conservation.

At Cuyabeno Wildlife Center, our conservation work focuses on preventing illegal hunting, deforestation, and other threats while ensuring local communities benefit from tourism sustainably. By traveling with us, you help protect this incredible part of the Amazon for future generations.

“I’m proud to work at Cuyabeno Wildlife Center because it lets me share the beauty and importance of our culture and rainforest with visitors from around the world. This work gives me a stable income and the chance to grow, learn, and contribute to my community every day.”
