My parter and I did the 3 night 4 day experience and it blew our expectations out of the water. Out guide was Jorge and he was so wise and knowledgeable about the forest and all the animals. The food was really good and changes everyday which was nice, the beds were comfy but expect to see some bugs (cause it’s the amazon duh) but overall we left with only a 1-5 bug bites. Make sure to wear long pants and long sleeves to avoid mosquitos and you will be fine. The hikes can be challenging but in a wonderful way. The community visit is great but remember to bring lots of cash. Note you can only pay your bar tab with cash and after paying 20 bucks each for the Shamman we ran low. Overall we would recommend this to anyone !!! Best experience by far in ecaudor

We had a very good time!! Everything was super!! Our guide William was very good with his eagle eyes 😉 we saw a lot of monkeys (8 out 10), anaconda’s, many beautifull birds, sloths, frogs, spiders (big) and the delphins 😍 He was very enthousiastic and nice. The captain of the boat was very helpfull. The lodges were clean, the staff of the lodges (all of them) were very friendly and nice! The food was delicious! We had a winderfull stay! We will surely recommend you for the four days stay in Delphin lodge! Thanx you for this unforgetteble experience! 💚

I have now gone on two separate expeditions to the border of Peru with Cuyabeno Wildlife Center. I went with the same crew both times: Charlie (AKA Carlos) as guide, Olmedo as Captain, and Beto as Cook. I have visited 12 different countries and photographed wildlife in all of them, and this is one of the most amazing teams I have ever worked with! Charlie knows the sound of every bird in the jungle, he will make sure that you don’t miss a single exciting discovery along the way. He will prioritize the rarity of the sighting and draw your attention to the correct place when there are multiple sightings at once. He has experience as a photographer and he will make sure you get the perfect angle with the best view. He knows where the mammals, amphibians, insects, and reptiles are and gives you the best chance to see them. He has great English speaking skills, and he will help you keep track of all of things you see along the way. If you ask to see something specifically he will give you the best chances to see it! Olmedo is a phenomenal riverboat captain! His knowledge of the river system and how to read the waters and find safe passage are super human! He navigated us effortlessly through areas that I was sure were impassable. He also knows and loves the wildlife and spots many creatures that would otherwise go unnoticed. Having his experience and skills make an otherwise daunting journey feel safe and sure. Beto is a magician! He can conjure delicious food from the ether in even the most rudimentary jungle kitchen. We enjoyed incredible meals 3 times a day that gave us the energy to go out and explore more! He always has a smile on his face and he enjoys the wildlife and helps spot animals too! You won’t have any worries about food with Beto around! Mike will most likely be the one helping you with your booking, and he is incredible too! He will spell out every detail and make sure all of the logistics are taken care of! He responds in a timely fashion and makes you feel like a highly valued customer! There are many other people along the way that helped make this a great experience from the crew at Waita Lodge to the drivers that transport you across the mountains. If you think this is the trip for you then do not hesitate to book it! This is THE BEST place to book if you want a world class experience!

Wir haben fünf unvergessliche Tage im Cuyabeno-Nationalpark verbracht. Auf das Cuyabeno Wildlife Center sind wir durch eine Google-Suche aufmerksam geworden. Von Anfang an verlief die Kommunikation mit Mike reibungslos. Ich persönlich finde, dass eine der wichtigsten Voraussetzungen bei der Planung einer Reise eine klare Kommunikation ist. In diesen fünf Tagen haben wir drei sehr professionelle Guides kennengelernt. William, Jorge und Esmeralda haben uns viel über das Reservat und die Tierwelt beigebracht. Es war erstaunlich, wie sie die Wildtiere im Wald entdeckten, als wäre es die leichteste Sache der Welt. Es fühlte sich an, als hätten sie Adleraugen. Ein großes Dankeschön an das gesamte Personal der Dolphin Lodge dafür, dass auf meine Lebensmittelallergien jeden Tag Rücksicht genommen wurde. Außerdem wurden wir dreimal täglich mit köstlichen Mahlzeiten mitten im Amazonas verwöhnt. Das Zimmer war sauber und wir hatten warmes Wasser. Und natürlich auch vielen Dank an unsere Bootsführer, die uns jeden Tag auf dem Cuyabeno-Fluss transportiert haben. Besonders genossen haben wir die Tage ohne Internet und Mobilfunknetz. Informiert eure Familie unbedingt darüber, dass es hier weder Internet noch Netzempfang gibt. Zwar besteht die Möglichkeit, gegen Aufpreis WLAN zu kaufen, aber mitten im Regenwald ist auch das nicht immer garantiert. Wir empfehlen zu 100 % die Buchung über das Cuyabeno Wildlife Center.

My friend and I booked somewhat of a reunion trip to Cuyabeno after years of not seeing each other. The Amazon had been on my bucket list for a long time and it felt like the perfect time for an adventure. We were not disappointed. This was such an incredible experience from start to finish. We took the overnight bus (which is indeed long) from Quito to Cuyabeno but it’s decently comfortable and fairly scenic, with a number of stops along the route. Once at the Cuyabeno lodge, you’ll find your tour group and hop on a motorized canoe for another scenic trip to your respective lodge. Our guide, Jose, was truly phenomenal. We booked the 4 day Wild Amazonia tour and from start to finish he was joyful, passionate, knowledgeable, and patient. He’s been doing this for 20+ years and it shows. He is truly a natural both with people and animals. The lodge itself is quaint, but beautiful. We never really felt cramped in a private room and the lodge, by our last day, really did feel like a mini home. Different travelers are coming in and out and everyone was extremely respectful and kind. The staff were also great. From clean rooms to incredible food, we really had no complaints. The tours themselves were weather dependent, but whenever the weather didn’t cooperate, Jose was quick with an alternative plan. If you’re considering taking this trip-do it!
